GNS Hermes (CL-73) is a Disciple-class Light Cruiser based out of Houston, Texas in Sixth Fleet.
History
Hermes was first brought into commission on 23 March 2012 under the command of CDR Keith Manley, GSN, by order of BuShips. This ship was originally a correspondence chapter based in Houston, Texas, expanding the distance participation options in Fourth Fleet. This ship became the flagship of the new High Admiral, Nicholas Macon Hurst, after his precedessor, Lady Kirylyn Dreamer, Steadholder Blackbird stepped down after years of service due to poor health. The Hermes recruited heavily through cons in Texas when their efforts were rewarded with an upgrade to Barbara Bancroft on 28 October 2012. The Hermes was then put into the Active Reserves.

What goes around, comes around, and the High Admiral Hurst himself stepped down to become Baseball Commissioner. However, the siren song of command called to him again, and he formed the Reuben, the first Grayson meeting chapter again based in Houston, Texas. It didn't take long for them to get enough members to get upgraded, and now-CDR got his old flagship out of mothballs, and took command of the GNS Hermes. Because this was a meeting chapter, it made more sense to place the ship in Sixth Fleet, aligning itself with the nearest RMN ships in Oklahoma.

Their recruiting continued to expand, which meant more Grayson ships were created, forming Task Group 61.1, and promoting Hurst to Captain in charge of the group. However on 22 August 2016, the captain physically left Texas and a new commanding officer was needed for the Hermes. In a strange turn of fate, the original High Admiral had moved to the area, and stepped up to leave her steading to take command on 30 October 2016.
