The Parliamentary Medal of Valor is issued for those circumstances which would qualify for the Queen’s Cross for Bravery but where the life is actually saved and in which an enhancement criterion applies. Enhancement criteria include but are not limited to personal danger to the nominee, additional work or research required to render life-saving assistance, or situations where the nominee renders life-saving assistance to multiple victims in the same incident. Note that this need not be medical assistance—rescuing someone from a burning building would count.
