The unit was officially commissioned 5 July 2024 with [[Adjutant General Order 2407-02]] as a Flight strength chapter designated No. 1 Flight, Alpha Squadron, Stonearch Atmospheric Wing. The commissioning ceremony was held on that date at CONvergence 2024 in Minneapolis.
