RE: Update to Civilian Pin Requirements and Processes

BuTrain has made changes to the available Civilian courses. We have eliminated Kings College and added Gryphon Planetary University. As such, changing the requirements for the Civilian Pin has become necessary as some qualifying courses are no longer available, and more emphasis on Civilian Programs is desired.

The academic requirements are now as follows:

Civilian Pin – Accredited Staff Member (ASM) Qualifications

The Accredited Staff Member Award is represented by a silver pin.

Eligibility

C1 through to C11 (Junior / Senior Civil Servant)

Note:

Junior Minister and Ministers (C12 and above) may continue to wear the Accredited Staff Member (ASM) until they have completed the requirements for the Chartered Staff Member Pin (CSM).

To qualify for the ASM, a student must complete courses from 3 separate Sections: Section A: Complete at least LU-QC-0006 Baccalaureate Qualifier and GPU-ALC-0009 Section B: Complete THREE (3) courses selected from FIVE categories up to Level Two (-0002) to be se-lected from the following disciplines: Society of Economics and Political Science Xenology Society Society of World Civilizations Historical Society Society of Applied Sciences Section C: Complete any one of the GPU-ALC External Studies Course

Civilian Pin – Chartered Staff Member (CSM) Qualifications

The Chartered Staff Member is represented by a gold pin.

Eligibility

C12 and above (Junior Minister / Minister).

To qualify for the CSM, a student must complete courses from 3 separate Sections:

Section A Complete at least LU-QC-0101 Graduate Studies in Civilian Service and GPU-ALC-0113 Section B: Complete Four (4) courses selected from FIVE categories up to Level Four (-0004) to be selected from the following disciplines: Society of Economics and Political Science Xenology Society Society of World Civilizations Historical Society Society of Applied Sciences Section C: Complete one of the following: Complete a GPU-ALC external studies course (Must be a different course than used for the ASM) PAMA-IAN-S156 (Cryptography) SIA-SRN-26C (Intelligence Specialist) SIA-SRN-10C (Embassy Guard) RMACA-RMACS-02C (Aviation)

To apply for the pin, please fill out this form. The BuTrain awards office will process the application, and if it is correct, you will be included in next month's SWP announcement.

Members with old Kings College courses up to 0101 may apply those courses in place of the QC qualification.
