Effective as of 0001 Hours on 17 November 2023 In accordance with BuShips Directive 2304-06, Decommissioning of HMS Rigel (BC-591) the Marine Detachment is hereby transferred in its entirety to HMS Penelope (BC-585), Captain (SG) John Rebori, RMN Commanding.
The Penelope Marine Detachment will be a Battalion - sized echelon, assigned to 1st Corps, First Expeditionary Force, 21th RMMC Rifle Regiment, The Fenris Regiment.
The command triad of MARDET Penelope will be as follows:
Battalion Commander – Colonel Bruce Zimmerman
Battalion Executive Officer – Vacant
Battalion NCOIC/Gunny – Russell Selkirk Jr
The following Marines are assigned to Marine Detachment Penelope:
