Cruiser Division 211 was the first [[echelon unit]] formed in April 2012<ref>[[Naval Directive 12AP-03]]</ref> with ''Invincible'', along with ''Merlin'' and {{hms|Samurai|CL-356}}.

In October 2012, [[Battlecruiser Squadron 21]]<ref>[[Naval Directive 12OC-01]</ref> was formed with ''Invincible'' as its flagship.

In 2013, Invincible was decommissioned and its namesake [[superdreadnought]] {{hms|Invincible|SD-455|hcn}} was launched, with the battlecruiser crew transferring to the superdreadnought.
