Petty Officer Second Class: Difference between revisions

Petty Officer Second Class (abbrev: PO2) is an enlisted paygrade within the Royal Manticoran Navy, the Grayson Space Navy, and the Republic of Haven Navy.  It holds the equivalent military paygrade of E-6 within trmn. A petty officer is never referred to by their rank, but rather their rate. So a Master-at-Arms who earned their second stripe would not be called "Petty Officer 2nd Class," but rather "Master-at-Arms's Mate 2nd Class."

In peacetime, a Petty Officer 2nd Class would have served at least three Manticoran years, with twelve months Time in Grade. However, since there are a limited number of vacancies, there is a competitive test to determine who can be promoted.  The Grayson Space Navy uniform is blue with silver stripes. The Royal Manticoran Navy is black and the color of the stripes change depending on the specialty of the spacer.
