HMS Helen Zilwicki (CA-548) was a Saganami-C-class Heavy Cruiser of the Royal Manticoran Navy. First commissioned in 2014 in Chesapeake, Virginia, the hull was later recommissioned in Salt Lake City out of a HMS Jonas Adcock chapter split, forming Cruiser Division 801 before both ships were merged into the LAC carrier HMS Siren in 2016.
History
Helen Zilwicki was commissioned on 2 June 2014 under the command of CAPTJG Joseph Morgan, an upgrade for the crew of the destroyer HMS Devastation in Chesapeake, Virginia and assigned to Third Fleet.[1] Command passed to CAPTJG Joseph Lyons on 2 February 2015.[2] To better serve the spread-out Hampton Roads region, the crew upgraded to the LAC carrier HMS Specter on 6 May 2015, and Helen Zilwicki was placed in reserve.[3]
The hull was recommissioned on 1 November 2015 in Eighth Fleet under CAPTJG J. Eddy Roberts, formed when the HMS Jonas Adcock chapter in Salt Lake City divided, with the two ships organized as Cruiser Division 801.[4] On 28 November 2016, Helen Zilwicki and Jonas Adcock were merged into the newly commissioned LAC carrier HMS Siren, and both hulls returned to the reserve.[5]
