The Royal Manticoran Marine Corps (abbrev. RMMC) is a branch of The Royal Manticoran Navy: The Official Honor Harrington Fan Association, Inc. (TRMN), representing the space and land combat forces of the Star Kingdom of Manticore. The most basic unit of the RMMC is the Marine Detachment (MarDet). Members of this branch wear the uniform of the RMMC and are addressed by Marine ranks.

In the Honorverse

Within the context of the Honorverse canon, Marines form an integral part of a ship's crew; they man the ship's weapons, are crucial to damage control and are used for boarding parties or to provide a quick-reaction ground force on a planet's surface. While Marines can be deployed as a garrison force, such arrangements usually last only until they are relieved by Army units.[1]

Leadership & Command

They act as the Commandant of the Royal Manticoran Marine Corps. The MotC issues Corps Directives, and is assisted by the Deputy Marshal of the Corps (DMotC), as well as the Sergeant Major of the Corps. These three are the overall "Command Triad" for the RMMC.

Marine Forces Command, or FORCECOM, Corps combines the functions of the Bureau of Ships and the Bureau of Personnel for the RMMC. This command is responsible for MARDET creation, personnel moves, and promotions.

Intelligence Command
