| This section was SUPERSEDED by {{{by}}}. |
Purpose & Use
Marks a section or provision of a manual/handbook that has been superseded, rescinded, or amended by a newer order, directive, or policy. Unlike {{Order superseded}} (which flags a whole order page and links a single same-type order), this template is placed inside a section and accepts a free-form reference, so it can cite any order type — a Joint Chiefs Directive, a Board Policy Document, the Bylaws, etc. — and an optional explanatory note.
Syntax
{{Section superseded
| status = SUPERSEDED (optional; also RESCINDED / AMENDED — default SUPERSEDED)
| by = [[Orders:Joint Chiefs Directive 2311-04]] (required; free wikitext, may list several)
| note = short explanation of what changed (optional)
}}
Example
| This section was SUPERSEDED by Orders:Joint Chiefs Directive 2311-04. The five-senior-officer model was replaced by the Grand Alliance Joint Chiefs of Staff. |
