Directive Text
Joint Chiefs Directive 2510-02
As of the date of this directive, by the authority of the Grand Alliance Joint Chiefs of Staff, the will of Parliament, and with the blessing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth III of the Star Kingdom of Manticore, and Empress Elizabeth I of the Star Empire of Manticore; we hereby bestow upon Captain Senior Grade John Ryan Chambers the Star Empire of Manticore's highest award for valor.
THE PARLIAMENTARY MEDAL OF VALOR
On the 9th of August, 2025, Captain Chambers, at peril to his own person, acted decisively to save the life of his youngest daughter, Cadet Ranger Christine Chambers, after she had been dislodged from her inner tube and sucked underwarter by a whirlpool during a river tubing outing. Diving after his submerged child, Captain Chambers successfully brought her to the surface and held her above the water while the two of them were swept downstream. Fighting the current and what would later be assessed as his own extensive injuries from rocks and debris, he remained with his daughter for over two miles until the next river exit where they both exited the water. Had Captain Chambers not acted so selflessly in his rescue of his daughter, we would have lost not only a member of our family, but a young member of TRMN. The selfless decision to place his own life in danger to rescue his daughter goes above and beyond the call of duty and exemplifies the proudest traditions of the Royal Manticoran Navy.
The actions of Captain Senior Grade John Chambers bring great honor to himself, the Royal Manticoran Navy, and The Royal Manticoran Navy, The Official Honor Harrington Fan Association.
