A platoon is a military unit used in The Royal Manticoran Navy: The Official Honor Harrington Fan Association, Inc. (TRMN) by the Royal Manticoran Army and the Royal Manticoran Marine Corps.
In canon, a platoon is a subsidiary unit of a company made up of approximately 40 soldiers or marines commanded by a lieutenant. The platoon is in turn made up of squads.

For Atmospheric Command units, a flight is the equivalent to ground force platoons.
A platoon is a Tier 2 chapter. required minimum complement is:[1]

Naming convention
RMA chapters have regimental names,[2] so a Tier 2 chapter portrays a subsidiary platoon of the named regiment.
Example: Shadow Vale Regiment, Alpha Company, First Platoon.
