Help_(disambiguation)
- Help:Contents - This has a focus on Tenth Fleet Wiki itself, not Tenth Fleet itself
- Help - This should have a focus on Tenth Fleet (& chapters within 10F) itself, not the Tenth Fleet Wiki; more public-facing general help & info finding. This can be a hub for:
  - Glossary
  - Frequently Asked Questions page
  - Search documentation specific to Tenth Fleet Wiki (eg explaining that you can search for specific nomenclature)
  - Potential Member page
  - Membership Sign-up page documentation (for https://medusa.trmn.org/register page)
    - Basic documentation (mostly to explain the choices within the Branch and Chapter sections)
    - Charter City Sortable Table (which contains a link directly to the TFW page of the Ship/Unit/Chapter the user is interested in)
    - Up-to-Date Charter City Waypoint Map
  - New Member page
    - Page which contains non-specific general information a new member is supposed to receive in an email (meaning, no specific contact info for anyone included (beyond a last-resort TRMN.org email to get help proper), and at least giving a general idea of what the next step(s) should be; eg "if you haven't heard from your chapter's captain/point of contact, send an email to...(correct general TRMN.org email address)")
      - Link to TRMN's New Member quick-start guide
  - Perhaps a page to receive questions/feedback (e.g. missing/incorrect content) regarding getting people connected to others, or answers to specific questions not already covered

Paygrade (eg term used within the page summary and as a table header in C-19)
Saganami Island Tactical Simulator

Redirects
- When you add a category tag in the source, then click the Preview button, remember to do a quick smoke test of "Preview of edit summary: (added to Category:Redirects)" just below the summary text field. You're checking to make sure there aren't any spelling errors and/or link(s) that all work correctly, before committing the change by clicking the "Save changes" button.

What can a new (Tenth Fleet) wiki editor get started with?

(Reference: GW2 Welcome Wrapper)
This question is here in an effort to answer the question I now realize I had, but didn't realize I had when I started actually trying to do things in TFW. These are the things that will appear in the "Welcome to Tenth Fleet Wiki message sent to new editors"; basically, a short, quick orientation.
Referenced from Guild Wars 2 Wiki:
- There is a message sent to a new editor when User access is granted (autoconfirmed Users?). This messge is basically a page that acts as a wrapper to deliver the bulk of what it's intended to deliver: a well-designed Welcome message which contains a few links helpful to have in getting started, a few links for wiki-related communication, some links leading to where to find something to work on, some links to useful pages for the creation of (new articles or pages(, or expansion of stubs?)), and a few links on where to find icons. (my job here is to use/adapt that as a resource for TFW). It also includes a message on wiki etiquette, and concludes with message congratulating the new editor, including a solution if the new editor still has questions or concerns. This is all put together as a Template named {{Template:Welcome}}. Towards the bottom of the page, there is a section containing helpful resources, and a section with a couple of other resources to also check out. At the foot of the page (within the source, not seen on the page when looking at it in the Read tab) is the equivalent of [[Category:TenthFleet]]. Summarized, it would look something like this:

- - TenthFleet:Welcome_to_the_Wiki!
    - Welcome message. (about 1 sentence)
    - == Welcome message for new Users ==
    - :
    - {{Template:Welcome}}
    - == Help Resources ==
    - Be sure to visit our extensive [[Help:Contents]] page, where you can view & reference a plethora of Help pages, communicate with other editors and Admins, and get your questions answered. **** <nowiki>== See also ==
    - Learn about our policies, guidelines, and processes at
    - Tenth Fleet Wiki news and links to important wiki-specific discussions can be found at the [[TenthFleet:Community_hub|Community Hub]].
    - [[Category:TenthFleet Wiki]]

- - The following summarizes the content in {{Template:Welcome}}
    - Header: Welcome to the Tenth Fleet Wiki!
    - {{Quotation|Person credited to quote|Quoted message that appears}}
    - Getting Sarted
      - Help Center • How to help • Wiki FAQ • Administration noticeboard
    - Wiki-related communication
      - Community Hub • Ask a wiki question • Tenth Fleet Wiki Discord
    - Where to find something to work on
      - Projects • Wanted images • Image update requests • Wanted pages
    - Useful pages for expanding stubs, and the creation of new sections, articles, and pages
      - Overview of page layouts •
    - On wiki etiquette
      - Brief summary of wiki etiquette.
    - Congratulatory 1-sentence message.

Uncategorized Notes

On the page [[Category:Orders|Category:Orders]], the Subcategories [[Category:Ship_Orders]] and [[Category:Ship%27s_Orders]] exist. This is possibly an oversight that should be brought to Admin's attn.
Should we be removing self-referential links? (e.g. the [[Category:Royal_Manticoran_Marine_Corps]] page is categorized with [[Category:Royal_Manticoran_Marine_Corps]]).

What are reasons why we use "Show Preview" when working with Redirects?

Sometimes the target isn't the exact same as what looks to be a working link. For example, when creating a new Redirect for an abbreviation (eg "AD") that does not have a Redirect yet, the full-form name (eg "Army Directive") appears on the page to be linked to an existing page; Army Directive, in this instance. The link doesn't actually target [[Army Directive]]; It's actually marked up as [[Army_Directives|Army Directive]]. so the target is Army_Directives.
- The other possibility from this example could be that the markup appears as [[Army Directive]], but that would have to rely on an existing Redirect to the target link [[Army_Directives]].
It's possible to generate a informational warning message from clicking Show Preview. When creating a redirect for the abbreviation "ACS" (presumably targeting the page name "Astro Control System"), the warning message informed that a page exists with the page name [[Royal_Manticoran_Astro_Control_Service]]. Because of this warning the target it suggests is checked for target accuracy, and the target in the Redirect page can be adjusted accordingly; this saves extra steps/work in the future.

To Do

Investigate the usage of [[Forms_of_Address|Ritter]] as used in the summary on the Hohenheim page.
