This award is issued to those enlisted personnel who serve as an E-7 or higher for one calendar year AFTER the completion of all the enlisted courses for their branch.
For the RMMM, this award is issued for successfully completing the General Spacer Training 5 course plus either one of the following: Able Spacer course, Sick Bay Attendant course, Chief Cook course or any 6 unlicensed engineering courses at the Merchant Fleet Academy, and for having served for at least one year as Leading Spacer, Technician 5, Chief Cook or Sick Berth Attendant AFTER the completion of those courses.
This award is only issued once all criteria are met and is only issued once.[1]

To apply for this award, please send your name, RMN number, the title and date passed for your final qualifying course(s), and the date you were promoted to a qualifying rank (or above) to the Chief of Staff for BuTrain at cos@butrain.trmn.org.
