RE: Launch of GPU External Studies Courses
Gryphon Planetary University has opened its Advanced Leadership College External Studies program. This program allows students to take courses by real-world, third-party providers that teach Leadership, Management, Communication, and Ethics, and receive credit in BuTrain for this work. The courses that BuTrain has reviewed and pre-approved are primarily through Alison.com, a long-standing provider that offers many different courses, which are free to take.
The list of available courses that have been curated and pre-approved will be maintained on the Advanced Leadership College wiki page.

Check back periodically as new courses will be approved and added over time.
Students who want to take different courses than those pre-approved may apply through the instructor for approval to take a non pre-approved course. The process and policy for applying for and submitting results for both pre- and non pre-approved courses is covered in BuTrain Directive 004-23 (viewtopic.php?p=46329#p46329). These procedures will apply to all External Studies coursework, and failure to follow them may result in a student's coursework not being recognized.
To apply, go through the normal course request form on the TRMN main page, under Civilian Courses → Gryphon Planetary University → Advanced Leadership College → External Studies Courses. In the email receipt you receive, you will note a link to a Google form that will allow you to register for the course you are interested in. The instructor will also be available to answer any further questions you may have.
Additionally GPU is opening the Institute for TRMN Leadership Studies (ITLS). This college is specifically focussed on training in areas that are related to the functioning of TRMN itself and has very little Honorverse content. Currently it contains the Bureau courses and two external courses for GDPR training. Again courses will be added as they are approved.

To apply for these courses is the same process except choosing ITLS rather than ALC in the course request dropdown. As with ALC the same processes for taking external courses apply
