This Project aims to consolidate, organize, and expand the Help:Contents page

Project lead: Chris Magnani

Goal

Ultimately, the goal of this project is to create a dashboard-like page that all levels of the team can use in the process of maintaining and expanding Tenth Fleet Wiki, providing a useful (yet non-intimidating) tool chest of commonly-used links, tools, and reference materials for current and future team members.

The overall goal of this project is
  • To make the process of being a wiki editor newbie less painful and not as intimidating
  • To consolidate & organize the various bits & pages of information (e.g. policies, guidelines, processes) into a more cohesive and understandable form
  • To create infrastructure elements on Tenth Fleet Wiki not currently in existence in order to foster collaborative communication, spur discussion on processes yet to be established, and create helpful resources for new editors
  • To provide explanatory pages and/or sections for new editors to quickly grasp various concepts, terminology, and tools inherent to working with a wiki, all geared with Tenth Fleet Wiki in mind

Scope

Describe some details regarding what specific aspects are affected by the actions of this Project. (Need to add an example, different than what currently exists in other Projects.)

  • The scope is limited to consolidate, organize, and expand pages within the Help: and TenthFleet: to serve as reference materials, useful tools, and parts of operational infrastructure as the team determines is needed for collaboration & communication.
  • Another limit to the scope in this project addresses Policies and Guidelines. While this project touches on Policy or Guideline pages (meaning, creating some organization of the many Policy-tagged pages), the Project Manager is not tasked with dictating or creating any new Policies or Guidelines themselves.

Method

Manual creation of pages and content

Conventions and Rulings

This should provide a summary of newly-encountered issues/hurdles that have presented themselves in the course of completing this Project. Each issue can have it's own bullet point, and should include a summarization of the approach used to achieve success in overcoming that particular hurdle.

Status

The Project's status should be monitored & maintained periodically (define time frame for periodically: daily, every few days, weekly?) by the Project Lead.

Provide a summary of other Projects that in some way affect the successful completion of this particular Project. Keep in mind, these other Projects have their own lifespan (e.g. Active, Inactive, Completed, or possibly other states not yet considered) and end result.

To Do

Creation & discussion of policies, guidelines, and processes for mutual collaboration if they have not yet been established. The links in the individual sections
