  • James Friedline*

Nomination Text:

This is the nomination for a posthumous award for James Friedline for the Most Honorable Order of King Roger I, Knight Grand Cross. James was a unique individual who helped both the Academy and the Civilian Corps grow. He touched the lives of countless members and his loss will be felt across the board. his dedication to TRMN was second to none and he is deserving of recognition for that. His love of TRMN was immeasurable, and that too deserves recognition. James was one of our earliest members, joining in 2011 when TRMN was only 4 years old, and has been with us through that time. he stepped up to the Academy early on and turned it into a powerhouse. When he stepped down from the Academy, he again stepped up and did the same for the civilians. James will be missed by many, and this is a fitting award to recognize his dedicated service to TRMN.

  • FADM Robert Bulkeley Jr, GSN

Nomination Text:

Duke Mountain View, Admiral Robert Bulkeley, has been an indispensable member of the TRMN for over 15 years. He was among the first 50 members of the organization and has served in various leadership positions since the beginning; notably among those 8th Fleet Commander, Fourth Space Lord, Director of the Art Department, and most recently as Deputy High Admiral of the Grayson Space Navy. One would be hard pressed to find many individuals in TRMN who have made a greater contribution, or left as indelible a mark as he has. His tireless efforts towards the betterment of this organization, as well as the Grayson Space Navy in particular, are an inspiration for many. For those that are unaware, much of the grayson Space Navy's design philosophy; their ranks, their insignia, their uniforms, all owe their liniage to the work of Duke Mountain View. A major portion of the components visual design as it appears in House of Steel would not exist were it not for his vision and effort, and without such, the Grayson Space Navy might look very different today. His leadership at the Fleet level laid the groundwork for where the 8th Fleet is today, further his service as 4SL laid the groundwork for where the Department of Art and Branding is today. There is not a piece of artwork in this organization that has not been designed, inspired by, or consulted on by Duke Mountain View. Additionally, Duke Mountain View has championed the Grayson Space Navy at every step, prioritizing chapter and unit insignias, helping design and develop the history of the Grayson Naval Jack, and consulting on more recent uniform developments. he was a tireless supporter of me during my stint as the GSN Chief of Staff, advising me during a very difficult time for the component, and was the undeniable choice to assume duties as my Deputy HIgh Admiral when I was sworn in as the High Admiral. He also serves as the Permanent Commanding Officer of GNS Covington (C3), the GSN's Individual Honor Society. As he retired from the Office of the High Admiral and takes a well deserved step back from active service, after over 15 years of service at the highest levels, I cannot think of any other individual more deserving of being elevated to Knight Grand Cross in the Most Honorable Order of King Roger I than Admiral Robert Bulkeley.

To be created a Knight Commander in the Most Honorable Order of King Roger I.

In 2023 the Bureau of Ships was given the responsibility of finalizing, implementing, and running the Grand Alliance Excellence Program (GAUEP) by members of the Joint Chiefs. Originally done as a warrant project, he has continued to maintain and update these systems as the year has progressed. Answering questions and dealing with any problems reported to by the general membership. With his appointment to the CO of the Department of Records, he has expanded his personal skill set to include Wiki editing and designed and set up the GAUEP wiki page, displaying the earned letters by chapter month to month. He changed the reporting system to auto-develop wiki code to easily update Mantipedia every month. His continued tech support for the back-end of the GAUEP has made the entire process extremely smooth from a management standpoint with everything charted and easy to locate. Aside from the tech side of the program, Joey has also been the primary point of contact for assessing and addressing submissions. Taking time to double check and verify submissions, seeks out additional approval, and when necessary reach out to Chapter COs for clarification on events. his communication skills became an invaluable part of the success of the GAUEP. With the completion of the 2024 calendar year, a total of 103 letters were awarded. Each one was checked and verified by WO Mireles. The totals resulted in 5 chapters receiving Battle Excellence ribbons. TRMN membership going far beyond what our original projections were for the first year of the program, the ability for our members to participate is entirely due to his diligence and dedication to the organization. Never once did he shirk or complain in the face of this responsibility. on top of his already existing workload as the member who processes the bi-monthly chapter reports, his contributions to TRMN are significant. The manager of Chapter Activity from reporting the GAUEP, hi is an unseen steward of the org. His unwavering dedication to the Crown not just for this last year and his work on the GAUEP, but his last four years of Service to TRMN is a shining example of the Queen's Navy. For these reasons, I submit him for induction into the Most Honorable Order of King Roger I.
