Make omissions explicit. It is better to note what is missing than to leave a silent gap.
If a section is incomplete or a fact is unknown, say so plainly rather than implying the article is finished. This tells readers not to rely on the gap and tells other editors where help is needed. Remember that the absence of a record is not itself a fact — see Policies and guidelines.
