PD-2SL-0003 — TRMN Art Creation Policy (version 1) is a Bureau of Planning policy document describing the process for requesting the creation of new artwork. It was approved 25 April 2020.
Introduction/Purpose
Describe the process for requesting the creation of new artwork.
Scope
This Policy Directive applies to all Members of The Royal Manticoran Navy and its Components, Allied Services, Groups and Subgroups (hereafter, TRMN).
Prerequisites
- Read the TRMN 2020 Organizational Style Guide so that you have an understanding of the scope of work that can be created for you.
- If you have part of the art (for example an image you want to be placed in the center of a crest), download and complete the appropriate release forms.
- If you do not have any art, formulate an idea of what you are looking for and submit it to art@trmn.org.
- All requests for new art creation must be submitted no less than six weeks in advance of the due date.
- All requests must be emailed to art@trmn.org and include a "need by date".

Responsible Parties
- Submitter – Any member of TRMN who creates a piece of artwork for TRMN use.
- Art Department – Responsible for reviewing all TRMN organizational artwork - art@trmn.org.
- Art Director – The person responsible for oversight of the Art Department.
- Artist – A member of the Art Department staff who is trained in the artwork, branding and marketing standards of the organization.

Definitions
- Artwork - Any Illustration, Painting, Digital Graphic Media, Photography, Audio, Video or Textual Creation.
- Vector Graphic – Computer graphic images that are defined in 2D points, which are connected by lines and curves to form polygons and other shapes.
- Raster Graphic – Computer graphic which is a bitmap image, a dot-matrix data structure that represents a general rectangular grid of pixels (points of color), viewable via a monitor, paper or other display medium. These are unacceptable for submission (examples include .jpeg, .gif, and .png).
- .svg - Scalable Vector Graphic file format.
- .ai – Adobe Illustrator file format.
