Re: MARDET Combat Readiness Program (FORCECOM Order 2108-A)

Corps Directive 03-1611 dated 16 November 2016 posted by the Marshal of the Corp established the Royal Manticoran Marine Corps Combat Readiness Program which allows awarding of a Combat Readiness streamer and a series of Special Certification streamers to be awarded to Marine Detachments and other RMMC echelons of the Royal Manticoran Marine Corps.


For clarification a Marine Detachment (MARDET) and other RMMC echelons are as follows:


Marine Detachment


Brigade – As established aboard a LPX Heavy Marine Transport

Regiment – As established aboard a Broadsword or Kamerling class Marine Transport

Battalion

Company

Platoon

Squad

Section


Other RMMC Echelons


Headquarters RMMC

Marine Forces Command

Corp Headquarters – First, Second and Third RMMC Corps

Expeditionary Force

Fleet Regiment – RMMC Numbered Fleet Regiment

The MARDET Combat Readiness Program will be administered as follows:


1) The Commandant of the Royal Manticorian Marine Corps Training Center (RMMCTC) will receive and verify the documentation from the Marine Detachments or other RMMC Echelons and verify that the requirements have been met.

2) The RMMCTC Commandant will then forward the approved documentation to Marine Forces Command (COMFORCECOM) for awarding.


COMBAT READY


To be considered Combat Ready a Marine Detachment or other RMMC Echelon must meet the following requirements:


1) Seventy-Five (75) percent of the Marine in the Marine Detachment must have obtained either the Enlisted or Officer Space Warfare Pin.

2) If a Marine Detachment of Echelon meets the requirements to be considered Combat Ready, they shall be deemed so and a certificate stating such shall be issued to the MARDET or Echelon Commanding Officer or NCOIC. Certification is good for one calendar year.

3) Certification for Combat Readiness must be renewed every year. If a Marine Detachment or Echelon fails to renew or meet the requirements for recertification by their renewal date, the Marine Detachment of Echelon shall lose its Combat Ready status.

4) Marine Detachments and Echelons that are Combat Ready are authorized to affix to their guidon, a streamer. This streamer shall be one and three-eighth inch hoist by a two-foot fly. Streamers shall be green with gold lettering. The lettering shall be:


COMBAT READY 20XX


With XX representing the two-digit year. This streamer is permanent and may be displayed even if the Marine Detachment or Echelon loses certification.

SPECIAL CERTIFICATION


If a Marine Detachment or Echelon has obtained Combat Ready status, it may obtain special certification in one or all the following areas:


Assault

Embassy Guard

Heavy Weapons

Military Police

Reconnaissance (Recon)

Rifleman


Marine Detachment or Echelon MUST be combat ready in the year which special certification is being requested.


The Special Certification Program will be administered as follows:


1) The Commandant of the Royal Manticorian Marine Corps Training Center (RMMCTC) will receive and verify the documentation from the Marine Detachments or other RMMC Echelons and verify that the requirements have been met.

2) The RMMCTC Commandant will then forward the approved documentation to Marine Forces Command (COMFORCECOM) for awarding.


To be considered for a Special Certification a Marine Detachment or other RMMC Echelon must meet the following requirements:


1) Marine Detachment or Echelon MUST be combat ready in the year which special certification is being requested.

2) Eighty-five (85) percent of the members of a Marine Detachment or Echelon, need to have completed A, C, and D levels for one of the lines of testing outlined in item 2 below.

3) Special Certification must be renewed every year. If a Marine Detachment or Echelon fails to renew or meet the requirements for recertification by their renewal date, the Marine Detachment or Echelon shall lose its special certification. A Marine Detachment or Echelon may reapply once it meets the requirements as set forth above.

4) Marine Detachments or Echelons that obtain special certification are authorized to affix to their guidon, a streamer. This streamer shall be one and three-eighth inch hoist by a two-foot fly. Streamers shall be green with gold lettering. The lettering shall be:

YYYYYY represents one of the areas as listed in item 2 above. Each certification receives its own streamer.
