HMS Titan (SD-160) was a Gryphon-class Superdreadnought within Sixth Fleet. Commanded by CAPTJG John Gilfillan, Titan claimed Houston, TX as her charter city.
History
Upgrading from HMS Ares (CL-85), HMS Titan was brought into commission in Sixth Fleet out of Missouri City, TX in June of 2016, under the command of Captain (Junior Grade) Larry Cameron.[1] Within the following month, the ship proved herself to be a fast mover: by July, she had already joined Task Group 61.1 under TF61,[2], and stood up a section as MARDET Titan.[3]
In June of 2017 command shifted to CAPTJG John Gilfillan,[4] where it remained until February, 2018: at this point, the captain and crew upgraded to HMS Salamander (CLAC-31), returning Titan to the Active Reserve.[5]
