A category sort key controls where a page appears in the alphabetical listing of a category.

By default a page sorts under its title. Override this with [[Category:Name|sort key]] for a single category, or {{DEFAULTSORT:sort key}} for the whole page — for example sorting a person under their surname, or an order under its date.
