HMS Gallant (CL-315) was a Valiant-class Light Cruiser of the Royal Manticoran Navy. First commissioned in 2015 and recommissioned in 2017, she served across two commissions in the Second and Third Fleets, claiming Asheville, North Carolina as her charter city and serving as flagship of Light Cruiser Division 651, before her decommissioning on 21 April 2020.

History

HMS Gallant initially commissioned under then-Commander Sherman Day in April of 2015 based out of Michigan City, IN., she was initially assigned to Second Fleet as an upgrade from HMS Hotspur (DD-02), which was returned to Active Reserve at this time.[1] Continuing Hotspur's legacy of not being content to rest upon one's laurels, the crew of Gallant led the ship to become a founding member of Light Cruiser Division 651 in Third Fleet, that August: Gallant became the flagship for the division, joined therein by HMS Odin and HMS Apollo.[2] This was not to last, however, as the crews of Gallant and Odin merged in March of 2016, commissioning HMS Demon and returning both light cruisers to the Active Reserve.[3]

Gallant recommissioned in Third Fleet in July of 2017 under Commander Aiden Alexander, returning HMS Juno (BC-726) to Active Reserve.[4] Keeping with the tradition of the hull, she was assigned to Task Group 32.2 scant days later.[5] She was decommissioned on 21 April 2020, her crew transferred to HMSS Greenwich.[6]
