This guide shows you how to create a page for a peerage: a barony, county, duchy, grand duchy, Grayson steadholding, or Havenite senator-for-life. A good model to look at while you read is McCovey Cove.
A peerage page describes a "land," not a person, so the page is named after the land (for example, Kings River), not the peer who holds it.
Step by step
- Create the page. Search for the land's name. If it does not exist, you will see a red link you can click to start it.
- Add the infobox. Paste the skeleton below at the very top and fill in what you know.
- Write the opening sentence. Put the title in bold and say what it is. For example: The County of McCovey Cove is a peerage title awarded by The Royal Manticoran Navy: The Official Honor Harrington Fan Association, Inc..
- Add a short history. One or two sentences on when it was created and who holds it, each backed by a source.
- Add the succession table (see below).
- Add the coat of arms section if the arms have a blazon.
- Categorize the page with the holder's rank, for example
, plus.
The infobox
Use Infobox-peerage. Include only the lines you have.

Which date goes in "created"?
Use
Use
created for the date the land first became a peerage under its current name, and elevated only if it was later raised to a higher rank. If the land was renamed from an earlier title, keep the old title as history in the article body. The succession table
List who has held the title. Keep it to abbreviated rank, name, dates, and rank:
# !! Name !! Created !! Elevated !! Rank
1 || VADM Cindy Van Wyhe, GCE, MC || 27 May 2018 || 1 July 2023 || Countess
Arms
If the arms have no file yet, leave the image line out and the infobox shows the House of Lords placeholder. When a file arrives, upload it (see the note on image size in Help:Editing) and add the image line.
Add it to the Wall
Every peerage also appears on the Wall of Peerage, ordered by precedence. Add your land there in the matching rank section so the roll stays complete.

Common mistakes to avoid
- Do not create a page about the person. The page is about the land.
- Do not list a peer's full set of post-nominals in the infobox. Keep the infobox short.
- Do not mark a peerage "defunct" without an order that dissolved it.
