TenthFleet:Template guide

The Template guide catalogs the templates used on the Tenth Fleet Wiki and explains which one to use for each kind of content. Every parameter listed here is taken from the template's own source. For how to lay out a particular kind of page, see the Contributor's guide and the per-topic building guides.

All parameters are optional unless noted; include only the ones you need.

Infoboxes

An infobox is the summary sidebar at the top-right of an article. Choose the one that matches the subject; all share the wiki's dark house style.

Legacy: medal-info is the older award infobox (name, image, image2, image3, auth, branches, freq). New award pages should use Infobox-award; medal-info remains only on legacy pages.

Copy-and-fill skeletons for the two most common:

reflist

On Infobox-award the tier, authority, and announced fields automatically attach the standard PD-SC-1007 Awards Policy footnotes, so the page must include reflist. The ribbon image is captioned "Service ribbon" and the medal "Full medal" by default.

Static reference sidebars

These take no parameters — each displays a fixed list:

Content and maintenance templates

News + News end A Fleet News item (on a page titled TenthFleet:News/Your headline) date, author, source
Superseded Flag a whole document as superseded or voided by, type, status, note
Section superseded Flag a single section as superseded by, status, note

News-item skeleton:

...article body, reproduced verbatim...
News end

The date drives both the article header and the news feed's ordering; no category tag is needed (the template adds it).

 • Awards — navigation box for all award articles. Place at the foot of an award page.
 • Editor documentation — navigation box for the contributor and technical documentation. Place at the foot of a documentation page.

Inline helpers

 • trmn — the organization's full legal name.
 • hms — a ship name with its hull number: Medusa renders HMS Medusa. Companion prefixes for other navies: gsn, gsns, gsn-ha, gsnlac, rhns, sms.
 • w — a link to Wikipedia: Main Page.

Order-page furniture

Order and directive pages are assembled from a set of helpers: Order Header, Order Sig, Order Sig Dir, Order navigation, Orderrow, and Orders quick buttons. See TenthFleet:Documenting an order for how they fit together.
