A Corporal or [[E-4 is an enlisted person in the marine corps or army. It is the lowest non-cmmissioned officer rank. A soldier who has received their first chevron is generally referred to as "Corporal."

Honorverse

In peacetime, a corporal will have served 26 months in the service, and six months Time in Grade. In the marines, there is also a competitive exam to determine qualification for NCO rank.
