This guide shows you how to create a page for an award or decoration. The working model to look at is Awards:Manticore Cross, which shows the full layout.

New award pages live in the Awards namespace, so their titles start with Awards: (for example, Awards:Manticore Cross). The older award articles in the main namespace are kept as historical records.

Step by step

 1. Create the page with an Awards: title.
 2. Add the infobox using the skeleton below.
 3. Write the opening sentence in bold: The Manticore Cross (post-nominal MC) is the highest award for gallantry in the RMN and RMMC.
 4. Add a Criteria section describing who earns the award and how.
 5. Add a Cross-branch equivalents section if the award has equivalents in other branches.
 6. Add the Recipients roll (see below).
 7. Add References and the Awards navbox at the foot.
 8. Categorize by type, tier, and branch, plus .

The infobox

Use Infobox-award.

reflist
Post-nominal or abbreviation?
Use the postnom field only if the award appears in the Post-nominals list. If it does not carry a post-nominal, use abbrev instead, which labels the code as an abbreviation.
The footnotes write themselves
The tier, authority, and announced fields add the correct PD-SC-1007 Awards Policy citations for you. Just include reflist on the page so they show up.

The recipients roll

The awards policy requires a curated list of holders. Use a sortable table, stamp it with the date it was last updated, and cite each entry to the order that granted it where you can:

# !! Recipient !! Times awarded !! Order / source
1 || Dame Laura Lochen, MC || Awarded five times || unsourced

When you add new names during an award cycle, mark those rows with New award so they highlight in orange until the next update.

Common mistakes to avoid

 • Do not put a full set of post-nominals in the recipients list. Rank, name, and the award post-nominal are enough.
 • Do not add the PD-SC-1007 citations by hand; the infobox already adds them.
